Only had the camera installed for a couple days now, but so far so good. I like just about everything about it, except for a few slight flaws/defects or whatever they may be. Hence the reason I only gave it a 4 star rating instead of 5. I'll start with the issues/dislikes first.
Ability to setup a recording schedule or monitor time zone for when to record motion, or 24/7 recording, ect. does not exist. This is a huge issue for me as i have to manually change settings every day based off what time it is, where my other non wireless camera system i can set a schedule to monitor on certain days between certain times as the times noone is home is just about the same every day of the week. Big downfall in my opinion, however still doesn't make it a bad camera. Another issue is the 2 way radio feature…The streaming of audio from the camera to your device works crystal clear and instant, the mic however doesn't pickup that far away in my opinion. I have the camera mounted 9.2 ft in the air and standing about 5ft away from the wall it's mounted on i can barely hear myself talk through audio. When trying to talk through the camera with the mic option, the camera simply makes a static noise for a split second then nothing further. Haven't attempted to troubleshoot this yet, but from reading other reviews it seems to be a common issue between that or crashing the app. And finally the last con is the limitation on sdcard size. I'd much rather put something around a 1-2gb card in the camera, but it only supports up to 64gb. Still holds a good bit of footage though as i've recorded quite a bit to test quality ect.
That's pretty much all the negative i can think of or find with the camera so far. As for the things i like about the camera which I'm sure is what most of you are wanting to read. The pan and tilt options, they work absolutely amazing, pretty much instantly pans or tilts the second you hit the button. Wish it had a zoom on it though, because using your fingers to stretch the picture out and "zoom in" on something, is NOT actually zooming in with the camera, it's just zooming in on that image sadly and kills picture quality. The quality in sd is quite good surprisingly enough. But when viewing/recording/ect. in HD however….the image is absolutely crystal clear. I can read a car plate clear as day that's about 50+ft away from the camera in mid afternoon on HD. The infared works good and gives clear black and white night vision basic images like most security cameras do. However the spot light feature is ungodly bright! and images at 2:30am when it's the darkest hour of the night in the holler I live in, hitting the led spotlight turns the images into real color broad daylight middle of the afternoon quality images. And the distance those tiny little 4 led's will light up is quite amazing. Mounted at just over 9ft in the air i can light up my driveway enough to show real color clear images of 4 different cars all parked various distances from the camera. I measured from the camera to the furthest the spotlight shines enough to be able to see something clear as day in the dark…from 9.2ft high angling down out to almost 43ft away is all lit up and in at least a 20-30ft radius in width I would guess. Which is unheard of for a totally wireless full solar power camera. As for battery lift and solar charging features..The 3 batteries it comes with i charged with my vape battery charger as it uses 18650's as well. Then i added in 3 more 3000mah 18650's as well all fully charged when installing camera, and went through the setup which was quite simple, and i can tell you this…according to the app it's charging before the sunlight even comes out. just as soon as it gets daylight out before the sun even starts to peak over the hills, it starts charging. from the 6 batteries at full charge once camera was mounted and in place around 4pm the day i got it setup, i played with settings, quality, ect. using the camera constantly for a good 2 hours probably between figuring it out and getting everyone else in the houses devices setup on it, and the battery charge icon hadn't moved a bit. once it got dark i probably spent another 2-3 hours at least in the dark playing with the spotlight feature and angles just to see what all was visible at night in every way it could pan and tilt. by the time i wwas done the battery had just barely moved off full. I got alot of false movement records and notifications that night due to sensitivity being way too high, so it was constantly using the battery triggering. checked it right before daylight and was still only down maybe a little less then an 1/8th of battery usage through all that. iit charged back to full within 20 minutes of being daylight from that percent. and still after just over 2 1/2 days of use now i've never seen the battery drop below probably 75% charge. and that's with ALOT of playing between 4 different people. so battery life and solar panel charger is absolutely amazing! As for the distance this will get with wifi…i set it up right next to the computer/router as directed, then took outside where i wanted to mount and plugged in to see if i could pickup my wifi. I expected it not to pick up, but to my surprise it picks up with multiple bars of signal. and i have the camera through 2 walls in the house, and from the outside of the house to the camera is straight line of sight but almost 300ft away. so distance on the wifi is unheard of as well and absolutely amazing. it does experience a tiny bit of input lag just because of that, but it's nothing noticeable unless you're a techie.
I think that about sums it up at this point as I haven't got to test much more since I just got it, but if anything changes I'll update for sure, but for the price, and the quality as well as features this offers…It's worth the money x2 by far. I would definitely recommend this camera to someone, and have actually already recommended it to about a half a dozen people, 3 of which are planning to order 1 or more of these after seeing what all mine can do and the quality. So don't hesitate to buy if you're on a budget, can't run wires or even power somewhere you want to put a camera, or can't get wifi within 300 ft of where you want a camera, because this will amaze you! I promise you that! I'll try and sort through footage and pics later and upload some of my footage.
